Owner Keli Hazel has partnered with Barkha’s Custom Sourcing to produce her new line of Green Divas, a collection of portable jewelry organizers made of wild locally harvested stringing nettle and hemp fibers from Nepal. “I’m extremely proud of this new collection,” says Keli. “The fabrics are hand-woven in the Himalayan country of Nepal and the craftsmanship is extraordinary.” Keli’s new Green Diva’s are made of stinging nettle and hemp. Workers who possess traditional skills handed down to them through many generations of their families weave them in Nepal. The fabrics are manufactured under fair labor standards. It all starts when a village group harvests the nettle in the Himalayas by peeling an outer layer of bark. It’s then retted, hand-spun and hand woven on a back-strap loom. The end result is a spectacularly beautiful fabric that’s 100% organic, sustainable and kind to Planet Earth. And now these “green” portable jewelry organizers are available at Keli Kreations.
